Role: CNC Service and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Nottingham/UK

Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

Our client is looking for a CNC Service and Maintenance Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on work, technical problem-solving, and supporting advanced CNC machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of CNC machines at customer sites and occasionally within our workshop.

You will act as a key technical support point for customers, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and downtime is kept to a minimum. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and provide both on-site and remote technical support. Accurate completion of service reports and effective communication with internal engineering teams will also be essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Install, service, and repair CNC machines and related equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Provide technical support to customers on-site and remotely
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Liaise with internal engineering and support teams
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and to industry standards

Skills and experience:

• Experience as a CNC Service Engineer or similar engineering role
• Strong understanding of CNC machinery (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain etc. desirable)
• Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites
• Full UK driving licence
