About the Role
We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our growing service team. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing recycling equipment on both a scheduled and reactive basis, ensuring high standards of work and outstanding customer service.
Candidates must have electrical experience / background and also worked on hydraulic machines or baler and compactor equipment.
Key Responsibilities for the service engineer * Perform routine and emergency maintenance on recycling equipment * Work within customer SLA (Service Level Agreement) requirements * Communicate effectively with the Service Planning and Field Supervisors * Maintain accurate records of work completed, time on site, and parts used * Diagnose faults using hydraulic and electrical diagrams and testing equipment * Support the sales team by passing on any potential business leads * Occasionally work outside of your area or stay overnight when required * Ensure compliance with company health & safety policies and procedures * Maintain van stock levels and ensure PPE, tools, and vehicle are kept in good condition
Service engineer, what we need from candidate: * Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems * Experience reading and interpreting technical circuit diagrams * Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications * City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering * Experience using electrical and hydraulic test equipment * Familiarity with single and three-phase systems * Background in waste, plant, recycling, or similar equipment servicing
