NDT Technical Engineer (Rolling Stock) – Contract | London | £447.73 – £527.14 per day (Umbrella) Ceto Talent is recruiting an NDT Technical Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting rolling stock inspection and testing activities within a major London rail network. This is a full‑time, site‑based role working across multiple London locations within a safety‑critical environment. The role sits within a vehicle engineering and testing function, carrying out Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections to support the integrity, safety, and performance of rolling stock assets. There may be a requirement to work unsocial hours depending on operational needs. About You You will hold PCN Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) as a minimum and have experience performing NDT inspections in accordance with approved procedures, standards, and specifications. You will be comfortable interpreting and evaluating inspection results against relevant British and International Standards and translating NDT codes, standards, and specifications into practical inspection instructions suitable for live operational conditions. Experience working within a railway or rolling stock environment is essential. Additional PCN Level 2 certification in Ultrasonic Axle Testing (UAT), Eddy Current Testing (ECT), and/or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is desirable. The Role You will carry out NDT inspections on rolling stock assets, supporting vehicle engineering and testing teams across London. The role involves inspection execution, results interpretation, documentation, and supporting the ongoing development of NDT instructions and inspection planning activity.
