Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum Role Overview We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a small, close-knit team operating within a critical hospital environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to work in a stable and rewarding role, maintaining essential building services that directly support patient care. The position operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, offering a strong work-life balance alongside exposure to a highly regulated and professional environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant * Maintain and repair Air Handling Units (AHUs), pumps, and associated plant * Diagnose and rectify faults including belt replacements, blockages, and leak detection * Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures * Support the wider engineering team in maintaining high standards across the site * Participate in the on-call rota (every other shift) Required Qualifications & Experience Essential: * Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds or Equivalent In a Mechanical Discipline. * Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a commercial or critical environment * Strong knowledge of AHUs, pumps, belts, and general mechanical plant * Experience with fault finding, including leak detection and clearing blockages * Ability to work effectively within a small team environment * Good understanding of health & safety compliance Desirable: * Experience working within a healthcare or hospital environment * Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent) Benefits * Competitive salary up to £42,000 * 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12-hour shifts) * Opportunity to work within a stable, long-term contract * Supportive team environment with strong collaboration * Ongoing training and development opportunities Apply Now If you are a Mechanical Engineer looking for your next opportunity within a critical environment, apply today to be considered for this role
