Are you a Commissioning Engineer with proven experience delivering nuclear mechanical systems in high-hazard environments? Have you led or supported in-cell handler testing, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance at every stage? Are you confident coordinating commissioning activities on site while working closely with project, safety, and design teams? The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join a major nuclear project, supporting the safe and effective delivery of complex commissioning activities within a regulated environment. We would also welcome applications from these industries Applications are welcomed from candidates with transferable experience from nuclear new build, defence, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated process industries. This role would suit candidates working in these roles This position would suit professionals currently working as a Commissioning Engineer, Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Nuclear Engineer, Test Engineer, Mechanical Project Engineer, Systems Engineer, Commissioning Technician, Senior Commissioning Engineer, or Commissioning Lead. Your duties and responsibilities will be
Deliver assigned commissioning activities in line with agreed strategies, programmes, and site processes, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Plan, control, witness, and document commissioning and test activities, assessing results that could impact safety or system performance.
Champion a strong safety culture across nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental disciplines throughout commissioning phases.
Monitor commissioning progress, review performance against plan, and implement corrective actions where required.
Liaise daily with site teams and stakeholders to secure permissions, manage interfaces, and minimise disruption to wider project activities.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Demonstrable experience commissioning nuclear mechanical systems, including involvement in in-cell handler testing.
A minimum of HNC or HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven background working on nuclear commissioning projects within a regulated environment.
