As our Resource Base Manager, you will:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day running of our specialist provision for pupils with significant and complex needs which include social, emotional, speech, language and communication needs.
• Promote the progress and achievement of SEND students in the Resource Base and across the school.
• Lead on SEND policy and practice, working in conjunction with all stakeholders including staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Prepare statutory paperwork and coordinate Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, making appropriate external referrals.
• Work closely with professionals and support our highly engaged parent community.
• Support staff with Quality First Teaching, ensuring classroom adaptations are both effective and inclusive.
• Be able to plan and teach engaging lessons within the resource base, adapting the curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Support transitions for pupils joining or leaving the resource base, ensuring smooth and supportive experiences.
• Provide professional guidance and training to colleagues to promote inclusive practice across the school.
• Play a key role in the strategic development of SEND provision, contributing to whole-school improvement.
• Maintain accurate records and use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and inform provision.

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• The National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENDCos (or NASENCo if completed/started before September 2024). Applications from those willing to complete the NPQ within three years of appointment are also welcomed.
• Evidence of experience in team leadership and successful implementation of SEND policies.
• Proven inspirational and skilled classroom teacher with experience teaching pupils with SEND.
• A champion of inclusion with a demonstrable passion for supporting children with identified SEND.
• A clear understanding of how young people with SEND can be supported to achieve in mainstream classrooms.
• Sound knowledge of Child Safeguarding and the SEND Code of Practice.
