The Role:
Due to company growth and our client branching into new markets they are seeking to add to their design team. The R&D Engineer will be heavily involved in new product design.
The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the engineering team; supporting new product development and drive continuous improvement to existing designs.
Responsibilities
The R&D Engineer will:
- Work closely with the wider team in relation to new product designs from conception to completion
- Work closely with Engineering team to design and document new conversions, develop new processes, update production build manuals, and carry out fault finding exercises,
- Liaise with R&D team in the creation/modification of parts, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials,
- Implementation of new technologies, manufacturing processes and materials,
- Sourcing and liaising with suppliers of purchased components,
- Follow engineering change control procedure where applicable,
- Record and analyse Time and Motion studies to drive improvements in production times,
- Create and manage multiple design projects within set timeframe,
- Be responsible for the correct use of personal protective equipment as per the company policy.
Requirements:
- Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering,
- Experience in mechanical design 3 years +
- Previous experience implementing change control within a production environment,
- Experience in solid/surface modelling using Solidworks or similar,
