We are currently recruiting for a HVAC & Refrigeration Design Engineer to join a growing, engineering SME. The company specializes in low batch projects that are supplied into specialist sectors. As Design Engineer, you will have the chance to work on a range of projects across design, development, and quality. This is a brand new role created through project growth.
Salary & Hours:c£45,000 as a guide. Days based role 8:00am to 4:30pm Mon Thurs, and 8:00am 1:00pm finish on a Friday. Overtime paid at x1.5 on any hours after basic 37 hours per week.
ThisRefrigeration DesignEngineerEngineer job will suit:

• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles and thermodynamics
• Experience in the design of HVAC&R or thermofluid systems
• Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid flowprinciples
• Experience in product development or system design
• Experience in designing systems in accordance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
• Practically minded, happy to run tests and retain some hands on engineering elements.

The Refrigeration Design Engineer job will involve:

• Design and develop refrigeration systems and bespoke engineering equipment.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Perform thermodynamic calculations and system simulations
• Select appropriate components (compressors, heat exchangers, expansion devices, refrigerants)
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., PED, CE marking, safety regulations)
• Build and test prototypes, analysing performance and efficiency
