Location: Midlands Depot
Salary: £36,000 – £38,500 + overtime & call-out pay

Start Date: 01/06/2025 An established and growing pump rental solutions provider is looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer to support their operations across the Midlands. This is a mobile role involving the service, repair, and maintenance of diesel and electric-powered pumping systems, both on-site and at the depot. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical and electrical pump systems Carry out planned maintenance and emergency breakdown support Install and service pumps on customer sites Maintain accurate service records and follow health & safety protocols Participate in a call-out rota (enhanced pay applies) Requirements: NVQ or equivalent in Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering Experience with pumps, engines, or heavy plant equipment Full UK driving licence Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Comfortable working independently and dealing directly with customers Desirable: Background in pump hire, plant hire, or utilities Experience using lifting equipment Benefits: Competitive base salary + enhanced overtime and call-out pay 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme and employee support programmes Ongoing training and career development Smart Search Technical is a specialist recruitment company operating in technical engineering sectors across the UK & beyond.
