I’m recruiting for a hands-on Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting the UK’s Continuous At Sea Deterrent programme. This is a technically senior role with real ownership — not just oversight. The Role \* Hands-on electrical system design \* Produce E-Plan / SolidWorks Electrical schematics & wiring drawings \* Generate BOMs & full technical documentation \* Power & control system design (VSDs, motor starters, distribution, PLCs) \* FMEA, safety assessments & reliability analysis \* Ensure full technical & legislative compliance \* Work closely with mechanical engineers for integrated solutions \* Support testing & automation (NI Hardware / LabVIEW desirable) You’ll be accountable for delivering a compliant, manufacturable solution — from concept through to assembly. What You’ll Need \* Degree qualified (Electrical Engineering or similar) \* 5+ years within MOD / Marine / Defence / Aerospace \* Strong power & electrical design capability \* Control & Instrumentation experience \* PLC systems (ProfiBus / ProfiNet / TIA Portal) \* Safety & compliance documentation experience \* E-Plan & SolidWorks Electrical (advantageous) Must be a British National due to project requirements.
