Description

OverviewWe are working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business to recruit a Site Services Engineer. Reporting to the Supervisor, this role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site utilities and infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in facilities or site services to join a business that values continuous improvement, reliability, and high operational standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and monitor site utilities including compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, and water systemsMaintain pumps, pipework, and distribution systemsCarry out plumbing repairs and minor installationsDeliver planned and reactive maintenance across site servicesSupport energy reduction initiatives through monitoring and optimisationMaintain and fault-find automatic doors, gates, and barriersEnsure safe operation of all access systemsCarry out routine inspections and preventative maintenanceCoordinate external contractors where requiredMaintain plant rooms, service corridors, and external infrastructureSupport maintenance of lighting, drainage, and general facilitiesAssist with minor building works and site improvementsMaintain high housekeeping standards across service areasExecute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedulesRespond promptly to site service breakdownsEnsure compliance with relevant regulationsSupport Legionella control and water safety standards (ACOP L8)Promote safe systems of work and support risk assessmentsAct as site liaison for contractorsEnsure compliance with permits, isolations, and site procedures
The CandidateTime-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalentNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential)Proven experience within site services, utilities, or facilities maintenancePractical experience in plumbing and pump maintenanceStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience using a CMMS systemKnowledge of relevant compliance and safety standardsIOSH qualification (desirable)Proactive, reliable, and able to respond effectively to site issues
