A Mechanical Engineer is required for a global engineering business specialising in advanced vacuum and abatement systems for the semiconductor industry. Their technology supports complex manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance.
This is a key role delivering best-practice mechanical engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment within a growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver best-practice mechanical design for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and subsystems.
- Support mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Promote design-for-X principles (manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability).
- Create and manage work packages across cross-functional teams.
- Ensure designs meet safety, compliance, cost, quality, and performance targets.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (minimum Bachelors, essential).
- Experience in mechanical design of industrial equipment or machinery (essential).
- Experience of design-for-X principles (manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability - essential).
- Preparedness to undertake professional development and training (essential).
- Experience in a regulated, compliance-driven industry (e.g. semiconductor manufacturing equipment - desirable).
