Overview

Experis is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer / Network SME / Infrastructure Engineer to support a data centre network refresh project.
This is a short-term, hands-on contract ideal for an experienced engineer who can take full ownership of delivery, from network decommissioning and migration through to installation, configuration, and cabling.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a full data centre network refresh / upgrade / migration
• Perform network decommissioning of legacy infrastructure
• Install, rack, and configure network switches (Juniper / enterprise switching)
• Carry out structured cabling installation (Cat6, copper, patching, termination)
• Support network deployment, implementation, and infrastructure roll-out
• Ensure delivery aligns with Statement of Work (SOW) and project scope
• Work independently as a standalone engineer / field engineer / deployment engineer
• Provide clear updates to stakeholders and project contacts

Key Deliverables

• End-to-end network refresh completed within 5-day window
• Clean and structured decommissioning of existing network estate
• High-quality network installation, cabling, and configuration
• Stable and operational data centre network environment
• Documentation and handover (where required)

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a:
  • Network Engineer / Network SME / Infrastructure Engineer / Data Centre Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience delivering:
  • Network refresh / migration / upgrade projects
  • On-site deployments and installations
• Technical expertise in:
  • Structured cabling (Cat5e / Cat6 / copper / patch panels / termination)
  • Switch installation and configuration (Juniper preferred, Cisco also relevant)
• Experience working in:
  • Data centre environments / server rooms / enterprise infrastructure
• Ability to:
  • Work independently (solo delivery)
  • Take full ownership of technical delivery
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders

Desirable Skills

• Basic project delivery / project management exposure
• Understanding of procurement
• Experience working on short-term contracts / SOW-based delivery
• Broader networking knowledge:
  • VLANs, switching, LAN infrastructure, basic routing
