Location: Hybrid. To start with at least 3 days per week in either London or Manchester office. Further down the line looking to do 2 days in London and 2 days in Manchester with 1 day at home.

Job Description
This role provides high-level operational and administrative support within a Directors Office, ensuring the effective coordination of priorities, communications, and programme activity across a complex organisational landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of work through the Directors Office, ensuring priorities are clearly defined, correspondence is triaged effectively, and actions are delivered in a timely manner.
- Coordinate cross-programme inputs for major organisational returns, ensuring commissioned material is high quality, delivered on schedule, and aligned to strategic objectives.
- Maintain oversight of directorate performance, including tracking risks, opportunities, and progress against programme and business plans.
- Lead the planning and delivery of senior meetings and engagements, including logistics, commissioning briefing materials, and ensuring accurate recording and follow-up of actions.
- Provide proactive inbox management, identifying emerging issues and ensuring they are addressed efficiently and appropriately.
- Leverage digital collaboration and AI tools to enable seamless communication, improve information flow, and connect stakeholders across business units.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders, private offices, sponsors, and cross-government partners.
- Oversee administrative systems, including financial processes such as expenses and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain governance processes, including managing registers (eg gifts and hospitality) and ensuring alignment with organisational requirements.
- Provide line management and development support to junior staff where required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting briefings and coordinating senior-level correspondence.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional work and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Experience supporting senior leadership, with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple teams and organisations.
- Experience in risk tracking, performance monitoring, or programme coordination.
- Proficiency in digital collaboration tools and a proactive approach to improving processes through technology.
- High attention to detail, particularly in governance, record-keeping, and administrative processes.
- Leadership capability, including experience managing or mentoring junior staff (desirable).
