Job Summary
- The Interim Head of Community Learning Disability Team will provide senior leadership across integrated health and social care services within Royal Borough of Greenwich.
- The role is responsible for shaping and delivering strategic service improvements for adults with learning disabilities, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care and improved health outcomes.
- The postholder will lead service transformation, manage budgets and performance, and drive integrated working across multidisciplinary teams.
- This is a senior interim leadership role focused on stabilising services, improving outcomes, and ensuring value for money within Adult Services.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample)
- Provide strategic leadership for Community Learning Disability Services, influencing service design and delivery.
- Develop and implement integrated health and social care models to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including social care and clinical staff.
- Oversee service performance, ensuring delivery against local and national KPIs.
- Manage complex budgets, ensuring financial control, cost improvement, and sustainability.
- Drive service improvement, innovation, and transformation across the service.
- Work collaboratively with partners including NHS, GPs, clinicians, and external agencies.
- Ensure high standards of governance, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead workforce planning, staff development, and performance management processes.
- Act as a senior point of contact for operational and service delivery matters.
- Manage employee relations issues including investigations and appeals where required.
Skills/Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience within Adult Social Care, Learning Disabilities, or integrated health and care services.
- Strong experience managing Community Learning Disability Teams (CLDT) or similar services.
- Experience working within a local authority or NHS environment.
- Demonstrable experience in service transformation, redesign, and improvement.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget oversight and cost control.
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and complex staffing structures.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience across health, social care, and partner organisations.
- Experience working with integrated care systems and partnership models.
- Ability to lead in complex, high-pressure environments and drive performance.
- Strong understanding of equality, inclusion, and improving outcomes for vulnerable groups.
