GSMA is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its team in London, contributing to the organisation’s mission of advancing the mobile ecosystem and enabling innovation across global digital infrastructure. This role sits within GSMA’s data and technology function and focuses on designing, developing, and deploying advanced artificial intelligence solutions to support internal operations, member services, and industry initiatives.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable AI and machine learning systems, working closely with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Responsibilities include developing and optimising machine learning models, implementing data pipelines, and ensuring the robustness and scalability of AI driven applications. The role also involves contributing to AI strategy, evaluating emerging technologies, and promoting best practices in responsible and ethical AI deployment.

Stakeholder Engagement and Mentoring

The position requires engagement with stakeholders across the organisation, including product teams, analysts, and external partners, to deliver impactful solutions that enhance data driven decision making. The Senior AI Engineer will also contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team, supporting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should hold a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience in AI/ML engineering roles is required, with a demonstrated track record of delivering production grade solutions.

Required Expertise / Skills

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
• Expertise in data engineering, including building and managing data pipelines and working with large datasets.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and deployment practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms and scalable architectures is highly desirable.

• Candidates should demonstrate strong problem solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ethical AI principles and governance frameworks is an advantage.
