Come and join JLR as a Vehicle Safety Laboratories - Test Engineer, working at the heart of our Vehicle Safety Test Laboratory. This team plays a critical role in ensuring JLR vehicles meet internal requirements and global regulatory standards, supporting the delivery of safe, high quality vehicles for markets worldwide. The work is practical, structured and technically focused, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to vehicle development and approval.
Based in Gaydon, the role involves arranging and conducting component, system and full vehicle tests to support development, CAE and homologation activities. You’ll work with a wide range of quasi static and dynamic test rigs, assessing systems such as pedestrian impact, interior head impact, seats, body and chassis structures, restraints, sensing systems and climatic airbag testing. The position also includes analysing test results, producing clear sign off reports, and working closely with Safety Delivery teams, Technical Centres and external partners.
There are two working patterns available: a standard Monday to Friday day role, and a double day shift pattern (Approx Monday to Thursday 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, Friday 6am 12pm / 12pm - 6pm), which attracts a 16.6% shift allowance. This role would suit someone who enjoys hands on laboratory work in a highly regulated environment, values clear processes, and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant technical testing.
