Role: Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Application Integration Engineer to support a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving the security posture of an Operational Technology (OT) environment. This role will play a key part in application migration activities, a broader SCADA uplift programme, and the implementation of privileged access management solutions.
The position requires a proactive and technically strong individual who can operate independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
This role is hands-on and requires strong technical skills.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
As the Applications Integration Engineer you will possess experience working in environments that use virtualised/hyper-converged (HCI) infrastructures
Proven experience integrating, deploying, upgrading, and maintaining applications (including multi-tier systems) in large, distributed environments
* Experience onboarding applications into directory services such as Active Directory
* Strong experience across both Linux and Microsoft Windows environments (client and server)
* Good understanding of authentication protocols
* Experience following industry best practices for IT governance, including Change Control
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Solid knowledge of Active Directory
Desirable:
* Experience working with OT applications, particularly SCADA systems
Responsibilities include:
Integrate, install, upgrade, deploy, and maintain applications across both simple and multi-tier architectures
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including deployment and configuration guides
Support the integration and deployment of privileged access management solutions
Apply secure configurations to applications, including authentication methods and secure communication protocols
Collaborate with suppliers and project stakeholders to interpret technical requirements and translate them into delivery plans
Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders, and contribute to planning sessions and working groups
Work closely with suppliers and subject matter experts (operational and cyber) to optimise application performance and enhance security posture
Support Technical Architects in the development of technical designs
Identify opportunities to improve processes and tooling, particularly around application deployment and maintenance
Contribute to and execute testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Participate in governance processes, including Change Approval Boards
