Salary, Hours and Benefits
- £38,000 - £45,000
- Monday Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm
- 31 days holiday which rise with service

Senior Metrology Engineer Candidate Requirements
- A strong grounding in measurement science, calibration practices, and the use of precision instrumentation.
- You understand and have worked within structured quality environments, ideally aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar frameworks.
- Comfortable carrying out uncertainty evaluations, with practical experience applying GUM-based methods.
- Experience using calibration or laboratory management systems and can confidently interpret and work with technical data.
- Approach problems logically, with a methodical and analytical mindset.
- Confident operating independently, including representing the business at both company and customer sites.
- Communicate clearly, stay organised, and are proficient with standard IT tools and systems. You are proactive, adaptable, professional in presentation, and motivated to develop your skills further.
- Any prior experience leading or guiding others would be a strong advantage.
Senior Metrology Engineer Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Calibration in managing day-to-day laboratory operations and team performance.
- Plan and prioritise workflow to ensure efficient delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective calibration service.
- Carry out and lead calibration activities across mechanical and dimensional instrumentation, including method development and validation.
- Ensure full compliance with internal procedures, maintaining traceability to international standards and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Review and authorise calibration certificates, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Provide technical leadership in dimensional metrology, including uncertainty analysis and maintenance of uncertainty budgets.
- Mentor staff, support audit activities, and help maintain laboratory systems, equipment, and environmental controls to ensure optimal performance.
