Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team. This role is both hands-on and supervisory, requiring a strong technical background alongside proven people management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant performance in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Work hands-on to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
• Lead, support, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and engagement
• Manage and prioritise workloads in a high-pressure production environment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), ideally SAP
• Raise, track, and close work orders through SAP, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards and company procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members

Technical Requirements

• Ideally multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical competencies
• Experience working with high-pressure systems, including steam and compressed air
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Experience within a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled engineering role
• Previous experience in a people management or supervisory position is essential
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to lead by example
• Experience using CMMS systems, preferably SAP
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
• Electrical qualifications (e.g., 17th/18th Edition) essential
