Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support major engineering programmes within the nuclear and/or water sectors. This is a home-based role open to candidates across the UK, with Manchester listed as the notional office location.
We welcome applications from both Chartered and non-Chartered Engineers, provided candidates have the right technical background and are able to obtain SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural engineering design solutions across a range of projects
- Undertake analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures
- Prepare and review calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications
- Support multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient designs
- Ensure work is completed in line with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client requirements
- Contribute to design reviews, technical assurance, and project progress meetings
- Support projects throughout design and delivery phases
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ structural engineering experience
- Strong experience in reinforced concrete design
- Experience working in the nuclear industry and/or water industry
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deliverables effectively
- Strong understanding of UK design codes and engineering standards
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Eligible to obtain SC Clearance
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status (ICE / IStructE or equivalent)
- Experience on highly regulated or safety-critical projects
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
