Hunter Bond are working alongside a leading Commodities Trading firm and assisting in their search for a Snowflake Data Platform Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role focused on implementing, optimising, and operating Snowflake-based data solutions to support analytics and business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Snowflake data models, schemas, and pipelines .
  • Orchestrate ETL/ELT workflows using Dagster or Airflow .
  • Implement infrastructure automation with Terraform for Snowflake resources and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain data models in dbt , including dimensional (star/snowflake) and Data Vault approaches.
  • Optimise Snowflake workloads for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability .
  • Ingest and transform data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure data reliability and platform stability .
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and architects to deliver robust, secure, and maintainable data services .

Technical Skills Required

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake , dbt , Dagster/Airflow , Terraform , and AWS (S3, IAM) .
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java , with deep understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and data lifecycle management .
  • Knowledge of secure access patterns (OAuth/OIDC), data modelling (Data Vault, Star/3NF), and performance optimisation within Snowflake.
