A globally recognised financial markets infrastructure firm is hiring a Senior Platform Architect to play a pivotal role in transforming a high-profile, business-critical platform.

This is a true transformation piece - moving from a complex legacy estate toward a modern, cloud-native, scalable platform that directly underpins core business operations.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and business strategy.

You’ll take ownership of architectural direction across a globally distributed engineering function, working closely with senior stakeholders to shape how the platform evolves - both technically and commercially.

This isn’t governance from a distance - you’ll be close to engineering, influencing design decisions and driving modern best practices across the stack.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and own the platform architecture strategy across multiple teams and regions
• Drive the transition from legacy systems to cloud-native architecture
• Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and built for long-term growth
• Partner closely with engineers to embed modern development practices
• Engage senior stakeholders across tech and business, translating architecture into real commercial outcomes
• Act as a technical leader and influencer, shaping how the platform is built and evolves

Technology Environment

• Backend: TypeScript (Node.js)
• Frontend: JavaScript / React
• Cloud: AWS (containers, serverless, wider ecosystem)
• Architecture: Distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native design

What They’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Platform / Solution Architect in modern cloud environments
• Strong background building scalable, distributed systems
• Deep understanding of AWS and cloud-native architecture patterns
• Ability to operate at a senior stakeholder level (both technical & business)
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• A modern engineering mindset - comfortable challenging legacy approaches
