Senior Front Office Analytics Developer – Contract

Contract Type: 6-month rolling (high likelihood of extension)
Location: London (Hybrid)

We are hiring a Senior Front Office Analytics Developer to join a highly interactive trading environment, working directly with traders and Front Office stakeholders across energy markets.

This is a hands-on, senior-level engineering role requiring strong technical depth and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will take ownership of delivery across critical Front Office platforms and real-time analytics systems.

• Hands-on development across Front Office analytics platforms and tooling
• Own delivery end-to-end: requirements, design, build, testing, release, and iteration
• Build and maintain internal data platforms, analytics tools, and services
• Work directly with traders and analysts to refine requirements and deliver solutions
• Contribute to real-time systems supporting trading and operational decision-making
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a dynamic environment

Current & Upcoming Projects:

• Rebuilding a core scraping platform for improved scalability and reliability
• Developing validation tooling for analytics and data workflows
• Building a new Front Office data portal
• Delivering a mix of BAU enhancements and strategic initiatives

Technology Stack:

• Core Languages: Python or C# (.NET) (strong expertise in at least one is essential)
• Cloud: AWS
• Frontend: React / modern UI frameworks
• Databases: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse
• Streaming: Kafka or similar

Required Experience:

• Strong engineering experience within a Front Office / trading environment
• Deep expertise in Python or C# (either is acceptable, both is a bonus)
• Proven ability to deliver end-to-end solutions independently
• Experience working directly with business users (traders, analysts)
• Strong understanding of real-time systems and data-driven platforms
• Ability to operate at a senior level, with potential to lead if required

Domain Experience (Highly Desirable):

• Energy trading: oil & gas, power (including renewables), LNG
• Experience with trading systems and market data platforms

• Clear, pragmatic communication style when interacting with Front Office users
