Senior Engineer - Ground Investigation
Location: Hamilton / On-siteHours: 45 hours per week
We are supporting a leading geotechnical and ground investigation business in the appointment of a Senior Engineer. This role involves leading ground investigation projects, providing technical expertise, and supporting the development of junior engineers.
The Role
- Lead and manage ground investigation projects from start to completion.
- Provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to engineering staff.
- Ensure quality assurance across all site works, data collection and reporting.
- Support Health & Safety documentation including risk assessments and method statements.
- Collect and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
- Produce factual, GIR and interpretative reports to high standards.
- Assist with project scheduling, tender preparation and client communication.
About You
Knowledge:
- Ground investigation techniques, soil mechanics, geology.
- Industry specifications, standards and contract documents (ICC GI, NEC3/4).
- CDM 2015 Regulations.
Skills:
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership abilities.
- Confident decision-maker with excellent client management skills.
- High attention to quality and accuracy in reporting.
Experience:
- Background in the ground investigation industry.
- Experience running projects and managing stakeholders.
- Strong report writing skills (factual, GIR, interpretative).
Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline.
