The Opportunity We are partnered with a high-growth enterprise SaaS organisation delivering large-scale, cloud-native platforms used across a complex, multi-product ecosystem.
This is a hands-on Lead Engineer role sitting at the heart of a modern product engineering function. You will take ownership of critical platform services, lead a high-performing team, and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of systems that operate at real scale.

The Role As a Lead Engineer, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery, guiding a team of engineers while remaining close to the code and architecture.
You will:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting the standard for engineering quality
• Design and build scalable, resilient, cloud-native systems
• Collaborate with Product and Architecture to define technical direction
• Drive best practices across CI/CD, testing, and modern software engineering
• Take ownership of system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Contribute to architectural decisions across a distributed, service-based platform

Technology Environment Youll be working within a modern Microsoft-focused stack, including:

• C# / .NET (latest versions)
• Azure (cloud-native services, managed infrastructure)
• SQL & data-driven architectures
• Event-driven and distributed systems
• RESTful APIs and microservices
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
• React / TypeScript (desirable, not essential)

What Were Looking For

• Proven experience in a Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer stepping into leadership role
• Strong background in .NET and cloud-based architecture (Azure preferred)
• Experience building scalable, distributed systems in a SaaS environment
• Comfortable leading teams while remaining hands-on technically
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, DevOps)
• Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across product and architecture
