Hourly Rate: £39.00 Paye or £52.54 umbrella inside IR35
Onsite - 1-2 days per week on site
Onsite Monday – Friday

Overview
BAE Systems is looking for a Technical Documentation Engineer to join a dynamic Technical Publications team, supporting complex engineering programmes. This is a key role responsible for the creation, validation, and delivery of high-quality technical documentation to support critical systems and operations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and validating technical documentation in line with industry and business standards
• Reviewing OEM manuals and conducting detailed editorial analysis
• Ensuring technical data specifications are complete, consistent, and ready for subcontracted production
• Producing integrated training and technical documentation requirements
• Managing configuration-controlled data and maintaining full audit trails
• Liaising with engineering, supply chain, training teams, and external suppliers
• Supporting subcontractors with production specifications and resolving queries
• Ensuring all documentation is delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards

Skills & Experience

• Experience within technical documentation, engineering support, or information management
• Working knowledge of S1000D
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex documentation challenges
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working collaboratively across engineering and project teams
• Familiarity with tools such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, SGML, or similar
