Description

I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team at a busy production facility in Harlow, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation offering long term stability and a varied working environment.

The successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of production equipment and site services. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting overall operational performance. This position would suit an electrically biased engineer who enjoys fault finding and working in a hands on role.

This role would be particularly well suited to an ex-military engineer with a strong electrical background who is looking to secure a stable, well paid position within industry, offering the chance to apply existing skills while continuing to develop within a supportive engineering team.

  • Electrical Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across site equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Support the continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with site procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records and schedules.
  • Work closely with production teams to support operational requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely at all times.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience working within a production or manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Self motivated with a proactive and hands on approach.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

  • Salary circa £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Working hours 7am to 5pm and 5am to 3pm.
  • 30 days holiday including bank holidays.
  • Full training on machinery will be provided.
  • Opportunity to join a stable and established organisation.
  • Pension scheme.

NOTE: Our client encourages applications from candidates from both commercial and ex-military backgrounds; Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, particularly those with a strong electrical engineering bias.
