Were excited to be recruiting a skilled Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance Engineer (MIG or TIG Welding) to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds!
This is a predominantly mechanical role with welding at its core, supported by basic electrical fault-finding and maintenance.
As part of the engineering team, youll play a key role in maintaining plant performance and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of a busy production facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your focus will be on delivering effective planned preventative maintenance and providing swift responses to breakdowns.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent role with long-term security, ongoing training, and genuine progression opportunities.
What youll be doing
- Carry out routine maintenance on various machinery and plant equipment including mixers, conveyors, casting machines, saws, motors, bearings and other production machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across various systems
- Support site improvements and maximise operational reliability
- Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and heavy industrial systems
- Carry out basic electrical fault finding and repairs (motors, sensors, wiring, etc.)
- Maintain high standards of health & safety in all tasks
- Assist with machinery installations and ongoing projects
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance
- Carry out MIG/TIG welding and basic fabrication work
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7am 4pm
Friday: 6:30am - 3pm
Pay
£40,000 per annum
Overtime available & paid at enhanced rates
Attendance bonuses (up to £1000)
Skills/Experience Required
Essential
- MIG or TIG welding experience
- Minimum 12 months mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment
- Basic electrical fault-finding ability (motors, sensors, or control systems)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Mechanical engineering qualifications
- Electrical qualifications or time-served experience
