The Company
Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading engineering organisation delivering critical power solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in generator and control systems.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and support of power generation and control systems. You will play a key role in delivering projects across a range of environments, ensuring systems are fully operational, compliant, and integrated.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out generator commissioning, including testing, fault finding, and performance verification
- Commission and support mains synchronisation systems, ensuring seamless integration
- Work with AMF, synchronising, and load sharing control systems
- Configure and test Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) and ComAp control panels
- Commission Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs) and associated systems
- Interpret electrical schematics and support control panel design and build
- Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and rectification of faults
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
- Produce commissioning reports and documentation
Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in generator commissioning

Strong knowledge of mains synchronisation and load sharing systems

Hands-on experience with:
- Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers
- ComAp controllers

Experience with Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs)

Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills

Ability to work independently on-site

Excellent communication and reporting skills
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
- Experience within critical power environments (data centres, hospitals, utilities)
- Exposure to water industry / water board projects
- Knowledge of PLC systems and integration
- Previous client-facing commissioning experience
