Role Overview

We’re hiring a Databricks Data Architect to lead solution design, pre-sales engagement, and technical delivery across Lakehouse and advanced analytics initiatives.

This is a highly client-facing role requiring a strong blend of commercial pre-sales capability and deep hands-on Databricks expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design of enterprise Databricks Lakehouse architectures
• Play a key role in pre-sales activities, including solution shaping, cost estimation, effort sizing, and client presentations
• Support technical deal qualification and proposal development
• Deliver scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and PySpark
• Own end-to-end architecture decisions across delivery programmes
• Work closely with consulting, commercial, and engineering teams

Required Experience

• Strong recent hands-on Databricks experience (last 2-3 years essential)
• Proven background in data consultancy or client delivery environments
• Demonstrable pre-sales involvement, including pitching, solution design, and stakeholder engagement
• Expertise in data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF)
• Experience integrating Databricks platforms with Power BI / Tableau
• Strong coding skills in Python, SQL, or Scala
• Experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP ecosystems

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Databricks governance tooling (Unity Catalogue / Purview)
• Experience with ML / AI workloads on Databricks
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code
