Job Title: Front-End Developer (React / Node.js) - Contract
Location: Remote (Northern Ireland based)
Duration: 3-6 Months (initial contract, with potential extension)
Day Rate: Competitive / Outside IR35

About the Role
We are seeking a talented Front-End Developer with strong commercial experience in and Node.js to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering scalable, user-focused applications-preferably within the fintech or wider financial services sector.
You will play a key role in building and optimising front-end applications for a fast-paced environment, collaborating with designers, product owners, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality front-end applications using and Node.js.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and security best practices are embedded in the UI.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to technical discussions and help shape the direction of the front-end architecture.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in (hooks, context, state management, component lifecycle).
• Solid experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Previous experience in fintech or financial services highly desirable.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup while staying collaborative.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to TypeScript.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
