They’re hiring a Lead Backend Developer to own backend engineering and drive the technical direction of scalable APIs and services.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll shape architecture, mentor engineers, and deliver robust, cloud-native systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend development using Node.js & TypeScript
• Design and build scalable APIs and microservices
• Define architecture, standards, and best practices
• Work across cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive performance, security, and reliability
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders
• Mentor developers and lead code quality

Essential Skills

• Strong Node.js & TypeScript experience
• Proven experience in a lead or senior engineering role
• Experience building scalable APIs / microservices
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Understanding of API security and authentication
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Desirable

• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Exposure to serverless and IaC (Terraform/CDK)
• Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with ecommerce or complex integrations
• Knowledge of performance and observability tools
