Role: Project Engineer
Location: Dungeness, UK.
Contract: 24 Months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. You will be responsible for design, execution, and technical oversight across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project requirements and stakeholder needs
- Support Project Execution Plans (design, safety case, commissioning)
- Develop engineering designs and technical solutions
- Produce and approve technical specifications
- Manage design and modification activities
- Oversee contractor work, risk assessments, and method statements
- Provide technical supervision during construction and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and quality standards
- Support handover to operations and maintain configuration control
- Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
Essential Skills & Experience
- HNC/HND/Degree (NQF Level 5/6 or equivalent)
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
- Experience within industrial or process plant environments
- Nuclear or conventional project engineering experience
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance
Desirable
- Knowledge of safety rules and risk assessment methodologies
- Understanding of site licence and quality management systems
- CDM Designer experience
- Contract and project delivery experience
- Membership of a professional engineering body
- Chartered Engineer status
