Role: Project Engineer

Location: Dungeness, UK.
Contract: 24 Months

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. You will be responsible for design, execution, and technical oversight across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project requirements and stakeholder needs
• Support Project Execution Plans (design, safety case, commissioning)
• Develop engineering designs and technical solutions
• Produce and approve technical specifications
• Manage design and modification activities
• Oversee contractor work, risk assessments, and method statements
• Provide technical supervision during construction and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and quality standards
• Support handover to operations and maintain configuration control
• Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities

Essential Skills & Experience

• HNC/HND/Degree (NQF Level 5/6 or equivalent)
• Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
• Experience within industrial or process plant environments
• Nuclear or conventional project engineering experience
• Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance

Desirable

• Knowledge of safety rules and risk assessment methodologies
• Understanding of site licence and quality management systems
• CDM Designer experience
• Contract and project delivery experience
• Membership of a professional engineering body
• Chartered Engineer status
