Lead C# Backend Developer
Location: Central London (Onsite) Salary: 75,000 - 85,000 Type: Permanent Sponsorship: Not available (must be UK-based)
Overview
We are working with an established software house based in Central London who are looking to hire a Lead C# Backend Developer to join their growing engineering team.
This is a fully onsite role, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using C# and .NET Framework
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers
- Take ownership of backend architecture and ensure best practices are followed
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including front-end, QA, and product
- Contribute to system design, performance optimisation, and code quality
- Participate in code reviews and promote clean, maintainable coding standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework
- Deep understanding of backend development principles and architecture
- Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases
- Proven experience in a Lead or Senior Developer position
- Experience building scalable, high-performance applications
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience with modern .NET (Core / .NET 6+)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
