Gap Technical Ltd are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. This role will focus on PLC programming, automation support, and HMI development, working with modern industrial control systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong experience in Mitsubishi and Siemens PLC platforms who enjoys troubleshooting, improving automation systems, and supporting production operations.

Key Responsibilities

PLC programming and modification using Mitsubishi GX Works and Siemens TIA Portal
Development and maintenance of Beijer E-Series HMI interfaces
Diagnosing and resolving automation and control system faults
Supporting commissioning and upgrades of control systems
Working with sensors, drives, and field devices within automated systems
Maintaining PLC/HMI backups and documentation
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturingRequired Experience

Proven experience in a Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer role
Strong PLC programming experience with:
Mitsubishi GX Works
Siemens TIA Portal
Experience configuring Beijer E-Series HMI
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
Experience working within manufacturing or industrial automation environmentsDesirable Skills

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
Experience commissioning automated machinery
Exposure to SCADA systems
Electrical control panel experienceApply
