EC&I Engineer / Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Highly Regulated Sector - SC Clearable (British Nationals Only)
12‑Month Contract | Outside IR35 | 40 hours per week | ASAP Start
We are supporting a leading organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, who are seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join their team on a long‑term contract. This position is ideally suited to individuals with a background in nuclear, defence, or other regulated process industries.
The successful engineer will work closely with a Principal Engineer and broader engineering teams, contributing to the delivery, integration and assurance of control and instrumentation systems across complex industrial assets.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design, specification and integration of EC&I systems, with particular emphasis on hardware engineering.
Work with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and related control technologies.
Ensure engineering work aligns with industry standards and best practice (EC&I engineering standards).
Collaborate with Principal Engineers and project stakeholders to ensure compliance in a regulated industry.
Required Experience & Skills
Proven engineering experience in nuclear, defence, energy, chemical, or other highly regulated industries.
Strong understanding of DCS hardware, instrumentation and control equipment.
Background in EC&I, C&I, or Control Systems Engineering.
Ability to meet SC clearance requirements - British nationals only.
Willingness to work away from home when required.
Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or related discipline.
