We’re supporting a high-performing manufacturing site in Glasgow looking for a Controls Engineer to take ownership of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement across site operations.
This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production running at maximum capacity -safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
What you’ll be doing:
Diagnosing faults and supporting breakdowns across plant and site services
Maintaining and improving PLC/SCADA systems and electrical standards
Leading automation upgrades, modifications, and project work
Managing electrical compliance, inspections, and documentation
Supporting CI initiatives to improve plant performance
Acting as the site’s electrical safety champion
What you’ll bring:
Strong PLC & SCADA experience (Rockwell Allen Bradley a must - Modicon a bonus!)
Knowledge of industrial networks (e.g. DeviceNet)
Experience with iFix, SQL/reporting systems, and legacy controls
Structured approach to software design, testing, and documentation
Ability to support both project work and reactive maintenance
Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing on site
