A leading SAP-focused product organisation is evolving its platform into a cloud-native SaaS solution on SAP BTP.
As part of this transformation, they are building a dedicated architecture capability and are looking for an experienced SAP BTP Platform Architect to help define and scale the platform.
This is a high-impact role focused on platform architecture, not traditional SAP implementation.
The Role
You will take ownership of the architecture of BTP-based SaaS platforms, working closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable and future-proof.
This role sits at the intersection of:
- SAP BTP
- Cloud-native architecture
- DevOps/platform engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern SAP BTP platform architecture for SaaS products
- Guide design of microservices-based applications (CAP/Cloud Foundry/Kyma)
- Make architectural decisions across BTP services, integrations and platform tooling
- Establish architecture standards and review processes
What They’re Looking For
Core Experience
- Strong experience with SAP BTP platform architecture
- Experience designing cloud-native applications and microservices
- Knowledge of CAP, Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma runtime
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD and automated deployments
Mindset
- A true architect, not just an engineer with an architecture title
- Ability to make long-term architectural decisions, not just short-term fixes
- Comfortable working in a product/SaaS environment, not just project delivery
Why This Role
- Opportunity to shape the architecture of a BTP-based SaaS platform from an early stage
- Work on modern SAP cloud technologies, not Legacy S/4 delivery
- Join a product-led organisation, not a traditional consultancy
Engagement
- Long-term contract preferred (12-24 months)
- Flexible working model (remote with occasional UK office interaction)
