The Role

As a Principal Platform Architect, you will lead the architecture and delivery of modern cloud platforms that underpin large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, youll help teams navigate complex technical landscapes, define architectural approaches and ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements. You will also build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring technology decisions align with strategic goals and deliver tangible value.

Alongside delivery, you will contribute to the wider platform and architecture capability, helping shape standards, technical direction and best practices while mentoring colleagues across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and delivery of cloud platforms supporting large-scale transformation programmes
• Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary agile teams
• Establish architectural principles, platform strategies and delivery standards
• Build trusted relationships with senior and executive stakeholders, translating complex technology into clear business outcomes
• Guide teams through platform design decisions and architectural challenges
• Contribute to technology strategy and the evolution of platform capabilities
• Mentor and support architects and engineers across the wider technology community
• Support customer relationships and contribute to account and growth strategies

What Were Looking For

• Proven experience leading the delivery of cloud platforms within large-scale transformation programmes
• Strong hands-on knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP (across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
• Experience making strategic technology decisions that drive successful delivery outcomes
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and executive leadership
• Experience with cloud migration, platform modernisation and web-based application deployment
• A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing technical teams
• Interest in working on complex public sector programmes(SC clearance required)*
