Description

CNC Recruitment are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our clients team within a manufacturing/engineering environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet defined quality standards through inspection, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Location: Taunton
Salary: £18 per hour
Contract: Temporary (3-4 months)
Hours: Monday Thursday 8am - 5pm Friday 8am 2pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct first-off inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Ensure products and processes comply with AS9001 and ISO9001 quality management standards.

  • Interpret and review engineering and technical drawings, including geometric symbols and tolerances.

  • Perform dimensional inspections using metrology and measurement equipment.

  • Use inspection tools including:

  • Callipers

  • Micrometres

  • Plug gauges

  • Screw plug gauges

  • Screw ring gauges

  • Gap gauges

Read and follow control plans to ensure correct inspection and quality processes are applied.Identify non-conformities and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.Support internal and external audits as required.(Nice to have) Program metrology equipment where required.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of AS9001 and ISO9001 and their practical application.
  • Proven experience in a quality role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Practical experience using metrology equipment and inspection tools.
  • Experience conducting precision inspections in a similar environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
