Siamo Group arelooking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production machinery, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring all plant and equipment operate efficiently to support continuous production.

This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who is comfortable working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive breakdown repairs to production machinery and site equipment.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across a range of production systems.
• Maintain production equipment including conveyors, multi-head weighers, check weighers, flow wrappers, overwrapping machines and gas flush machines.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in line with company health and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Support engineering and operational teams in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Assist with engineering projects and equipment upgrades.
• Support the maintenance and operation of building services systems including refrigeration, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, air handling units, air conditioning, and the Building Management System (BMS).

Working Environment

• Fast-paced manufacturing environment operating 24/7.
• Work may take place in chilled or ambient conditions.
• Occasional working at height may be required.
• Shift work and/or weekend working may be required.
• At times, the engineer may be the sole engineer on site.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment (food or automotive preferred).
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills including control circuits.
• Experience with PLC fault finding, inverter drives, HMIs and automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and control systems.
• Experience working with 3-phase systems, DC control circuits and safety circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Strong mechanical skills including gearboxes, motors, fabrication, welding and basic plumbing.
• Experience working with TPM systems and statutory compliance.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Desirable:

• MEWP Licence
• FLT Licence
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification
• Food Safety training

Flexibility required for shifts 6.00 am 14.00 pm , 14.00 pm 10.00 pm and 7.00 15.30 pm plus a possibility of being on call out covering the night shift too
