Workshop Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Workshop Engineering Manager to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workshop management, HGV repair and maintenance, and a thorough understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH regulations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our workshop operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkshop Management:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and maximum productivity
- Develop and implement efficient systems and processes to optimise workshop performance
- Manage workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Identify training needs and organise appropriate training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
HGV Repair and Maintenance:

- Oversee all aspects of HGV repair and maintenance operations
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the fleet
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in HGVs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HGV technologies and repair techniques
- Manage the procurement of parts and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure full compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations), and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all regulatory requirements
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to workshop practices
- Provide training and guidance to staff on regulatory compliance matters
Quality Control:

- Implement and maintain quality control processes for all workshop operations
- Regularly assess the quality of work produced by the workshop team
- Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for workshop quality and efficiency
