NC Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer (Multi-Axis Machining / CMM)

Rate: £28.38PH PAYE or £33.24PH Umbrella

We are seeking experienced NC Programmers / Manufacturing Engineers with expertise in multi-axis machining and/or CMM programming to support the development of digital manufacturing processes.

The role involves translating CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing specifications into efficient NC programs to support machining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise multi-axis NC programs using CAD/CAM systems
• Translate engineering design data into manufacturing processes
• Support process planning, design for manufacture (DFM), and dimensional management
• Validate programs using simulation software
• Support production with technical expertise and process improvements
• Manage engineering tasks to cost, quality, and schedule

Required Experience

• Experience with multi-axis machining NC programming and/or CMM programming

• Strong understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes

• Experience with CAD/CAM systems such as:

  • CATIA V5
  • Autodesk PowerMill / PowerShape or Siemens NX

• Experience with CGTECH Vericut simulation

• Knowledge of GD&T

• Familiarity with PLM, SAP CAM, Shop Floor Manager or similar systems

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree, HNC/HND, or recognised engineering apprenticeship
• Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred
