Role Overview

We are looking for a Validation Engineer MHEV System with strong experience in propulsion systems and hybrid vehicle technologies. The role involves supporting system validation, diagnostics, and technical issue resolution related to Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) propulsion systems.

The engineer will work closely with vehicle build teams, propulsion engineering teams, and testing facilities to diagnose issues and support system validation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the resolution of propulsion system issues within ICE/MHEV powertrain systems.
• Provide technical support during vehicle build and Pilot (PIL) phases.
• Conduct vehicle and pilot-level fault diagnosis related to ICE/MHEV powerpacks.
• Create DVPs (Design Verification Plans), test cases, procedures, and technical requirements.
• Perform system definition and validation activities for MHEV propulsion systems.
• Work within engineering facilities, rig environments, and vehicle testing environments.
• Use diagnostic and data analysis tools to identify and resolve system-level issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across multiple domains.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Engineering knowledge of ICE and MHEV propulsion systems with integration experience.

• Understanding of Hybrid and Electric Vehicle propulsion architectures.

• Knowledge of electrical engineering and battery technologies, including system interactions.

• Experience in powertrain system issue management.

• Hands-on experience in vehicle testing, engineering rigs, or test facilities.

• Experience with diagnostic and data analysis tools:

  • INCA
  • Canalyzer
  • Corvus
  • Matlab
  • Picoscope
  • MDA

• Experience solving complex technical problems using structured approaches (Six Sigma or similar methodologies).

• Experience applying Systems Engineering principles.

• Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering domains and teams.

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and JIRA.
