Our Client, a major pharmaceutical manufacturer whose brands can be recognised in major retailers, are looking to recruit (x2) Shift Maintenance Engineers, to work at their modern site in Runcorn, ideally situated close to M56 motorway links; this is an ideal role for someone who is working in a similar industry (FMCG, Packaging etc) wanting to move into the Pharmaceutical space, or an experienced GMP- Pharmaceutical skilled Engineer wanting to progress in their career.
The role:
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs on a range of manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose and resolve faults across production and processing machinery to minimise downtime.
Maintain and repair equipment involving:
Pneumatic systems
Electrical components and control systems
Mechanical assemblies and moving parts
PLC-controlled equipment and variable speed drives
Support continuous improvement activities by identifying potential equipment or process enhancements.
Assist in determining required spare parts and components to maintain operational efficiency.
Carry out general maintenance of site equipment and facilities when required.
Complete electrical and mechanical installation tasks associated with machinery and plant upgrades.
Provide technical input and engineering support for improvement initiatives and maintenance projects.
Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including job sheets, reports, and maintenance logs.
Communicate progress, issues, and completed work to the engineering leadership team.
The Person:
Will hold a HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, NVQ 3, ONC/HNC equivalent or have sufficient experience working as a Main Technician/ Eng in a similar setting
Experience working as a Maintenance Technician and/or Engineer in a Pharmaceutical, Chemical, FMCG, Food setting
Mechanical or electrical bias
Proficient in IT / Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc).
Good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills needed.
Good team player and able to work independently when needed
