Manufacturing Engineer – NC/CMM Programmer (Machining)
Location: BAE Systems Warton
Contract: 12 months
Working Pattern: 4–5 days on site per week
Security Clearance: BPSS required, SC in Flight (UK Eyes Only, subject to ITAR)
The Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – NC/CMM Programmer with experience in multi-axis machining and/or CMM programming to support the development of digital manufacturing processes for precision machined components.
You will translate CAD models, drawings and manufacturing specifications into efficient NC machining and inspection programs using modern CAD/CAM and simulation tools. The role requires strong knowledge of machining principles, dimensional management, and design for manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
Skills & Experience
Experience in NC programming and/or CMM programming
Good understanding of machining processes and manufacturing principles
Experience with CAD/CAM systems such as:
CATIA V5
Siemens NX
Autodesk PowerMill / PowerShape or similar
Experience with simulation tools such as CGTech Vericut Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Familiarity with PLM, SAP CAM, Shop Floor Manager or similar manufacturing systems Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work to tight deadlines Qualifications
About the Team
You will join a small, collaborative team of four engineers and a team leader, working on advanced manufacturing engineering solutions.
