What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of temporary works solutions for a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects.
Your day-to-day work may include:
✔ Designing temporary works structures – propping, shoring, scaffolding and excavation support
✔ Producing structural calculations and design reports using Eurocodes
✔ Preparing drawings and design details using AutoCAD or similar software
✔ Working closely with contractors, site teams and project managers
✔ Visiting sites to ensure designs are practical and implemented safely
✔ Contributing to technical reviews and design meetings
What We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you have:
A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Around 3–6 years’ experience in structural or temporary works design
Good knowledge of Eurocodes and BS5975 Temporary Works procedures
Experience with structural analysis and CAD software
Interest in progressing toward Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE)
