About The Company
Our client is an established civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality groundworks and earthworks packages for commercial construction projects. With a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and technical expertise, they work closely with leading developers and main contractors across the region.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple groundworks and earthworks packages within our commercial construction portfolio.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering civil engineering projects from pre-start through to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will act as the key liaison between clients, site teams, subcontractors, and senior management, ensuring smooth delivery across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage groundworks and earthworks packages on commercial construction projects
Plan and coordinate project programmes, resources, and site activities
Lead site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors
Monitor project progress, costs, and performance against programme and budget
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and main contractors
Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to ensure accurate delivery
Manage procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages
Identify and manage risks, delays, and variations
Provide regular project reporting to senior management
Requirements
Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering or groundworks
Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, foundations, and external works packages
Experience delivering projects on commercial construction developments
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Commercial awareness and cost management experience
Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
Desirable
SMSTS certification
CSCS card
Experience working with major developers or Tier 1 contractors
