OSS Design Engineer - Huawei MAE - Bristol - 6 months - Inside IR35

My client, a leading telecoms company is looking for an experienced OSS Design Engineer to support and enhance the Huawei MAE element-management platform. This system is responsible for managing the remaining Huawei radio network equipment while it undergoes a phased replacement programme.

You’ll join the established design team, ensuring the platform continues to deliver high performance, accurate alarm data, and reliable service during a major vendor transition. This role is essential in maintaining network quality and operational continuity for millions of customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting and maintaining the Huawei MAE management platform to ensure it operates efficiently.
• Investigating, analysing, and resolving OSS-related faults and data-feed issues.
• Working alongside designers and operational teams to maintain stable service throughout the vendor swap programme.
• Ensuring performance and alarm data from MAE flows correctly into wider OSS and network systems.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong understanding of Huawei MAE and its interfaces within a mobile network.
• Solid knowledge of OSS and RAN architecture, ideally from a mobile operator or vendor environment.
• Experience in OSS fault analysis, troubleshooting, and remediation.

Desirable:

• Broader OSS design background.
• Familiarity with security tools such as Qualys or CrowdStrike.
